Trunk or Treat at Grace Lutheran Sunday

Grace Lutheran Church will hold its first Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church parking lot, 211 S. Ninth St. Children are invited to come in costume. Parents, please bring your children for candy and cookie decorating. This fun event is free and open to the public.

Fall bazaar is today

DUNCOMBE — The Washington Lutheran Church will hold its fall bazaar from 9 to 11:30 a.m. today at the church in Duncombe. There will be a bake sale, craft items, second-hand store, quilts of all sizes, holiday section, good used clothing, freewill coffee with roll, door prizes and great fellowship. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Church Women to meet Friday

Church Women United will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Nov. 3 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1111 Fifth Ave. N. This is World Community Day with the theme “Kindling New Fires for Peace.” Members are asked to bring macaroni and cheese for Operation Christmas.

SALT youth group is Wednesday

The First United Methodist Church youth group SALT for middle-school youths will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church, 127 N. 10th St. Children will be picked up at the middle school after classes and parents must pick them up by 5 p.m. A snack is served along with a lesson and lots of games and fun for youths.

CDA annual Swiss steak dinner Oct. 28

Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Our Lady of Good Counsel Court #216, Holy Trinity Parish will hold its annual Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the Corpus Christi Center, 402 N. Eighth St. Tickets will be sold in advance only, not at the door. Tickets may be purchased with any CDA member or by calling Marie Sheeder at 570-5365 or 576-7747, or Christina Rosch at 571-6855. Proceeds from the dinner support a scholarship for one graduating high school student and two 8th grade students entering 9th grade.
