Calvary UMC to hold dinner March 24
STRATFORD — Calvary United Methodist Church, Stratford, is holding a chicken and noodle dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24. The menu is chicken and noodles served over mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, dinner rolls, dessert and drink. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for ages 10 and under.
Aglow to hold program March 16
Are you overwhelmed by sadness? Does fear hold you hostage? Aglow of Fort Dodge and Surrounding Area is holding a program at 10 a.m. March 16. Come and hear how the light overcame the darkness in Vickie Reeck’s life. She will be sharing her journey through a very dark time in her life, struggling with depression and chronic anxiety. It seemed there were no answers and no way out. The devil tried to kill, steal and destroy, but God had other plans. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1007 First Ave. S., is holding a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The menu is all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage with milk, juice and coffee. Annual ‘Fat Tuesday’ Waffle Supper at Algona First Presbyterian Church
ALGONA — The Algona First Presbyterian Church is hosting its 23rd annual “Fat Tuesday” Dad’s Belgian Waffle Supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Advance tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 to 12 and free to children under the age of 6 years or those over 90 years of age. Tickets are $9 at the door. Tickets are available from any church member or at the Algona First Presbyterian Church office. The “all you can eat” supper is served by Dad’s Belgian Waffles, based in Algona. Personal tragedies will be explored at Lifetree Cafe on Tuesday
The search for answers following personal tragedies will be probed at Lifetree Cafe at noon and 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lifetree event, titled “Why, God? When Personal Tragedy Doesn’t Make Sense,” features an original film depicting the true story of Thomas Vander Woude, who found his son struggling for his life after a backyard accident. According to Lifetree Cafe representative Craig Cable, “When tragedy strikes, many people question how God could allow such suffering. This Lifetree program addresses this question head-on.” Admission to the 60-minute event is free. ...
