POCAHONTAS — Dennis Naughton will be doing his Denny and Benny ventriloquist performance at 2 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Rialto Theater in Pocahontas. There will be a freewill donation and the proceeds will go to SS. Peter and Paul Historic Corporation for upkeep of the church.
The Fort Dodge Women’s Connection will meet at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 20 at Tea Thyme, 2021 Sixth Ave. S. Cost for the event is $10. Ilene Dirks from Sioux City will be the speaker. Her subject is “Change can happen in the blink of an eye. Learn how to cope when life changes quickly.” The special feature will be Kerrie Kuiper of the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau on the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance. All area ladies are welcome. Rolling Hills Community Church, 2891 N. 15th St., is holding a Vacation Bible School Pre-registration Carnival from 6 to 7 p.m. July 28. Parents can enroll their children in kindergarten through sixth grade in VBS while the children play games, jump in “The Bouncy Thing,” enjoy refreshments and have their faces painted.
