Bridge closed near Barnum
BARNUM — The bridge on Fairbanks Avenue near 205th Street has been closed due to a structural issue, according to the Webster County Road Department. The bridge will remain closed until repairs can be made.
Saturday street closures announced
Parts of two downtown streets will be closed Saturday for the Fort Dodge Pride Festival. Central Avenue will be closed between 10th and 12th streets. Also, 11th Street will be closed between First Avenue North and First Avenue South.
Lunch on Central is today
Lunch on Central will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the alley in the 700 block of Central Avenue between The Messenger and the Webster County Courthouse. The cost is $8. The menu will be pork burger or tenderloin, pasta salad, potato chips and bottled water. Desserts will be offered for purchase by the Trinity United Methodist Youth Group. Lunch on Central is presented by Main Street Fort Dodge and is sponsored by MidAmerican Energy, Webster County Pork Producers, The Dariette and Daniel Pharmacy.
Road work underway on P59
Asphalt repairs are underway on Webster County Road P59 between Fifth Avenue South and U.S. Highway 20, according to the Webster County Road Department. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at times. The work will continue through Wednesday.
