Attorney moves

to continue trial

SAC CITY – The attorney for a man accused of killing his housemate and burying his body in the victim’s basement has moved to continue the June 24 trial.

John D. Green, 54, of Blairsville, Ga., is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Mark Koster, 58, of Sac City.

Green’s attorney, Charles Kenville, of Fort Dodge, filed a motion to move Green’s June 24 trial date back as well as schedule a trial-scheduling conference to determine a new date for the trial.

Green is accused of killing Koster in 2009 and burying him in Koster’s basement. Koster’s badly decomposed body was found in November 2012 after the home was sold and the new owner was cleaning up.

Green was arrested in Florida earlier this year and charged with murder.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
