Angel Ride is Saturday in FD The first Angel Ride to Save the Tatas side-by-side ride is Saturday beginning at Rides Bar & Grill, 723 S. 31st St. Registration is 9 to 10:30 a.m. Driver registration is $15 and $5 per passenger. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. The stops are Rides Bar & Grill, Fort Dodge; Riverside Tap, Lehigh; Burt’s Dog House, Boxholm; Copperhead Saloon, Stratford; and Stumpy’s Bar & Grill, Duncombe. Money raised during the event will be used to benefit breast cancer patients in Fort Dodge and within a 75 mile radius of Fort Dodge.

FD Area Symphony to open 75th season on Sunday

The Fort Dodge Area Symphony will present the first concert of their 75th anniversary season at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Fort Dodge Middle School Auditorium. This concert will feature music by Brahms, Puccini and the world premiere performance of Matthew Kennedy’s “Symphony No. 2.” Also, emerging conductor Mac Muehlberger will lead the orchestra in Faure’s “Pavane.” The concert will conclude with Respighi’s powerful “Pines of the Appian Way.” Single tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the concert. Candidate forum set for tonight

A forum featuring candidates for Webster County auditor, sheriff and Board of Supervisors will be held this evening. The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Bioscience and Health Sciences Building at Iowa Central Community College. The forum is sponsored by the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and the college.

UDMO Adopt-a-Family and Santa for Seniors applications being accepted

Upper Des Moines Opportunity is now taking applications for its Adopt-a-Family and Santa for Seniors programs. Individuals, businesses and groups are encouraged to adopt either a child or a senior for Christmas. Applications will be taken until Nov. 21. Wish lists will be available for anyone wanting to adopt before Thanksgiving in case people want to shop Black Friday. Anyone interested in adopting should reach out to the Upper Des Moines Opportunity office at 1325 First Ave. S.

Corridor Plaza intersection to be closed

The intersection of Second Avenue South and 27th Street, in Corridor Plaza, will be closed today, according to an announcement from the Fort Dodge city engineering staff.
