Adult Winter Reading Challenge at the Fort Dodge Public Library

The Fort Dodge Public Library is having an Adult Winter Reading Challenge this year. The challenge runs through Feb. 28. Pick up reading logs at the library and turn them in for a chance to win weekly prize drawings from Dariette/Ardys Mae Coffee and Dessert, Stella’s Coffee Bar, and Bloomers Coffee. Soup supper will support mission work

First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge will hold a soup supper on Saturday to support its mission work. The supper will be served from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, 1115 Fifth Ave. N. It will be in the Christian Life Center on the south side of the church, so people should enter on the 12th Street side. The menu will consist of beef vegetable and chicken noodle soups plus chili. There will also be cinnamon rolls, crackers, a relish tray and drinks. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up. Tickets for kids ages 12 and younger are $5. Take out orders will be available. Eggs and Issues is Saturday

An Eggs and Issues legislative forum will be held Saturday. The forum will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the BioScience and Health Sciences Building at Iowa Central Community College. Eggs and Issues is sponsored by the college and the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.

Two new police officers added in Fort Dodge

Two new Fort Dodge police officers were introduced to the City Council Monday evening. They are Hogan Henrich and Damir Kuzek. They fill vacancies in the short-handed department. Henrich is a native of Puerto Rico. He is a graduate of Newell-Fonda High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Kuzek is coming to Fort Dodge from Des Moines.

Blood drives set in Webster Co.

Two blood drives are scheduled in Webster County early next month, according to an announcement from LifeServe Blood Center. They are scheduled for: n 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center, 802 Kenyon Road. n 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 5 at 1201 Market St. in Gowrie.
