FD Alzheimer’s walk raised $15K

Those who took a walk Saturday morning to help defeat Alzheimer’s disease raised about $15,000, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.

About 100 people participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Fort Dodge Middle School, 800 N. 32nd St.

The walk’s top team was Team Millie, led by Kelley Niblett. It raised more than $2,800 in memory of Niblett’s mother and uncle who both died of the disease.

Team Ryan Kent Edward Jones raised more than $1,800.

Team Memory Avengers, led by Myndi Grimsley, raised $770 in memory of loved ones she has lost to the disease.

Kelly Sheets, a member of Team Arlington Place, was the top walker in terms of fundraising. She raised $575.

Fundraising will continue through the end of the year. People can donate by going to alz.org/walk.

The money will support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.
