Small fire reported in Fort Dodge house
A small fire caused minimal damage to a Fort Dodge house Friday evening.
The incident at 602 N. Ninth St. was reported at 6:34 p.m.
Fire Department Capt. Jeff Hill said a man was using a propane torch to solder some pipes when nearby insulation caught fire. He said firefighters cut open some soffit, removed the insulation and used an extinguisher to put out the smoldering fire.
Hill described the damage as ”very minimal.”
Fort Dodge police assisted firefighters at the scene.
