The Fort Dodge Forestry Department will be offering its Operation Merry Mulch again this year for the 30th year in a row. This service was developed to assist residents of Fort Dodge in the proper disposal of their Christmas trees. This service also provides a needed outlet as a result of the state mandate, which prohibits the landfilling of Christmas trees and other yard wastes.

Trees may be dropped off at Oleson Park through Jan. 24, 2021. Residents are asked to drop off their Christmas trees at Oleson Park in the middle of the parking lot. A sign will be present. Please be sure all stands, wire, nails and ornaments are removed from the tree. Trees will be chipped up during normal working hours.

The city will not pick up trees left on the curbside.
