FD fireworks show canceled
There will be no city-sponsored fireworks show this Independence Day, the City of Fort Dodge and the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance announced on Monday morning.
The decision was made following the disbanding of the volunteer committee that has overseen the event for the past eight years.
“This announcement is also a result of the ongoing concerns related to COVID-19 and out of respect for local businesses who have historically contributed generous funds for the fireworks,” the release from the city read.
