Iowa Specialty Hospitals offer appointment alternatives

CLARION — Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics is offering new and familiar alternatives for communication and appointments for patients.

MyChart is an online tool that allows the user to view health records and test results. This is one way to communicate with a provider while maintaining a record that can be reviewed at a later time. MyChart can be viewed online or through the MyChart app. To enroll, call 515-532-9349 or visit IowaSpecialtyHospital.com/mychart-about/ to learn more.

A triage hotline has been created for individuals concerned about symptoms that may be associated with COVID-19. Patients can call 844-474-4321 for English or 515-602-9820 for Spanish. Ask for respiratory triage.

For patients with symptoms of respiratory illness, a curbside clinic at the Belmond location has been set up. Patients must call the phone line mentioned above, ask for respiratory triage. If necessary, an appointment for the curbside clinic will be scheduled.

To resume regular clinic appointments, Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics has launched telehealth. Individuals can call their local Iowa Specialty Hospital clinic location to schedule an appointment just as they normally would. At that time, they will be scheduled for a telehealth appointment and then sent a text message with a link to an app called Vidyo, which must be installed prior to the appointment. The day of the appointment, the patient will receive another text message with a link and pin number. From that point, they will be connected via screen sharing with their health care provider.
