Police, firefighters and paramedics work at the scene of a three-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon at the intersection of 29th Street and Second Avenue South. A couple of people were checked at the scene by paramedics, but no one was taken to the hospital. The crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. Police Chief Dennis Quinn said a Chevrolet Tahoe was southbound on 29th Street and struck a Hyundai which was entering 29th Street after apparently pulling out of a nearby store driveway. The impact of the crash pushed the Hyundai into the front of a GMC Denali pickup that was stopped at the stop sign on Second Avenue South, facing east. The crash closed the intersection and the southbound lane of 29th Street. It also left so much debris on the road that police requested a street sweeper from the Public Works Department.
