Deputies seek shooting suspects

No one was hurt in Dayton incident

DAYTON — The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two men in connection with a shooting incident late last month in Dayton that caused property damage, but no injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that Jose Perez, 33, of Lehigh, is wanted on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent and reckless use of a firearm.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that Zachary Hammond, 40, of Lehigh, is wanted on charges of aiding and abetting intimidation with a dangerous weapon and aiding and abetting going armed with intent.

The shooting happened at about 8 p.m. Dec. 28 in the 100 block of Fourth Street Southwest. Deputies found spent shell casings and multiple bullet holes in an overhead garage door.

The investigation revealed that a gold-colored minivan was involved in the incident. That vehicle was found in Lehigh and seized.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was found. Further investigation identified Perez and Hammond as suspects.
