BADGER — A garage at a home north of Fort Dodge was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon.

The fire at 1632 Lainson Ave. was reported at 1:52 p.m. That address is on U.S. Highway 169, about a mile north of Fort Dodge.

Badger Fire Chief Jeff Brundige said the homeowner was in the yard working when she saw smoke coming out of a hole in the garage. He said she opened the garage door to find flames and more smoke.

The garage, which was not attached to the home, was a total loss, Brundige said. There were no vehicles in the garage.

No one was injured.

Brundige said the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Firefighters from Badger, Barnum and Fort Dodge responded. They were on the scene for about an hour and a half.

The property is owned by Lisa Scott, according to online records of the Webster County Assessor’s Office.
