LEHIGH — No matter how hot it gets this weekend, organizers of this year’s Lehigh River Days say they’re ready for the fun and games of the 43rd annual event.
“River Days is an incredible family friendly event with plenty for everyone to do,” said Sadie Andersen, president of the Lehigh River Days organizing committee. “We are overjoyed to have a rain free forecast, but would love to remind everyone to stay hydrated and have amenities to keep cool. We have plenty of events that you can sign up for onsite and would love as many to participate as possible.”
New this year to River Days is Duck King Fun which will be on-site with bounce houses, foam fun, and a lot of games for those young and old alike.
The weekend will kick off with the annual Little Miss and Mister River Days pageant and follow with a bags tournament, glow foam, and a glow volleyball tournament.
Saturday begins with the annual parade, log roll competition, mud volleyball, and an afternoon and evening filled with music from Reco Jolly & The Good Times, Spencer Suchan & Friends, and the Wild Ambition Band.
According to Andersen, Sunday is for family time on the river. The Lions Club breakfast will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. but no organized events are scheduled.
“Take the kids out and fish, kayak, float, whatever it is you like to do, and enjoy the beautiful Lehigh River valley,” said Andersen.
