St. Edmond Ball raises $355K

More than 400 attended

Another successful Friends of St. Edmond Ball was held earlier this month at the Laramar Ballroom in Fort Dodge.

The 42nd annual event attracted more than 400 people and raised a net total of $355,000 — the most in the history of the ball.

Another $300,000 was raised for a new high school gymnasium floor, with the work on the project beginning this summer.

This year’s theme was “Creating Our Future With God’s Grace.” St. Edmond Ball co-chairs were Rob and Lindsay Ehn and Pat and Jen Leiting.

The Spirit of St. Edmond award recipients were recognized, as well as raffle winners Tom Ubben, Kristi Webster Columbus, Kelly Hinds, Lindsey Steck, Andy Cockrum and Lucas Battcher.

The St. Edmond Alumni and Friends basketball tournament had nine different squads, with Neil Flattery serving as the event organizer. The Class of 2022 group defended its title, with team members Cameron Kirkegaard, Zach Smith, Hayden Mayer, Noah Simpson,Trevor Jacobsen, Emilian Garcia and Quinten McCarville.

A golf outing attracted 41 teams to the Fort Dodge Country Club. The winning foursome was Pat Leiting, Mark McBride, Brad Baade and Matt Dutcher. Second place was Casey Johnson, Matt Johnson, Terry Miller and Steve Powell, with Mike Engler, Dave Flattery, Dave Wilson and Brian Young placing third.
