Woman arrested for robbing convenience store

A woman was arrested for threatening to kill a convenience store clerk before stealing cigarettes from the store, according to court records.

The incident happened at 9:17 a.m. Sunday at Casey’s General Store, 3327 Fifth Ave. S.

According to criminal complaints filed against her, Sara A. Reimers, 38, of Humboldt, went into the store and threatened to kill the clerk. She then stole eight packs of Newport Red 100 cigarettes, the criminal complaints state.

After Fort Dodge police took Reimers into custody and advised her of her rights, she admitted to threatening the clerk because she did not want to get caught, according to the criminal complaints.

Reimers was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery.

She made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Monday morning.

Magistrate William H. Habhab set her bond at $10,000 cash or surety.

Her preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 22.

Habhab also issued a no-contact order which bars Reimers from going to the store.

Starting at $4.94/week.
