The quilts given to a group of veterans Saturday by the Fort Dodge Area Quilters all have a few things in common.

They’re warm, cozy, colorful and crafted with love and care.

Cyndie Salvatore, the group’s president, talked about what goes into the quilts.

“They’re stitched with love and healing thoughts,” she said. “Their purpose is to cover a service member touched by war with a quilt of love.”

Salvatore said the three layers of the quilts represent three different concepts.
