Sac County man sentenced to 40 years for child molestation

Antonio Pharms

SAC CITY — A Lytton man will spend the next four decades behind bars after pleading guilty to four counts of lascivious acts with a minor, a Class C felony.

According to a release from Sac County Attorney Ben Smith, 38-year-old Antonio Pharms admitted to committing sexual offenses against a victim under the age of 14. Pharms was initially charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony.

Pharms accepted a plea agreement last month to plead guilty to the four counts of lascivious acts and the four counts of sexual abuse were dismissed. On Monday, District Court Judge Derek Johnson sentenced Pharms to four consecutive 10-year prison sentences. Pharms was also placed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the remainder of his life.

The offenses occurred in the spring of 2023 and were investigated by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office. Pharms was arrested and charged in July.
