-Messenger photo by Bill Shea Fort Dodge firefighters and police officers work at a fire behind some homes in the area of 15th Street and 13th Avenue North Thursday morning. The fire was reported at 10:11 a.m. Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter said it damaged parts of two fences, two sheds and a utility pole. He said phone lines connected to the pole were burned through and dropped to the ground. The northbound lanes of North 15th Street were closed between 12th and 13th avenues north while firefighters worked.
