An incident occurred at the Pro Cooperative in Manson on Thursday, but the company's Vice President of Operations Tony Hanson declined to clarify the nature of the incident.

MANSON — A Thursday incident is currently under investigation at the Manson location of Pro Cooperative, according to the company’s vice president for operations.

Tony Hanson, vice president of operations for the Pocahontas-based cooperative, confirmed to The Messenger that an incident occurred on Thursday, but declined to clarify the nature of the incident or if there were any injuries.

“All we can really say so far, because we’re going to have a full-scale operation going on, I can just say that Pro Cooperative takes the safety and health of its employees incredibly seriously,” he said. “It is our No. 1 priority.”

According to Pro Cooperative’s Facebook page and website, the Manson location was not receiving grain on Friday.

Hanson said once the investigation into the incident is completed, Pro Cooperative will be able to share more information.

An email and phone call to Calhoun County Sheriff Pat Riley was not returned by press time.

The Messenger also reached out to the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration, but did not hear back by press time.
