2 injured in shooting at the Brass Monkey

Two people were injured after multiple gunshots were fired inside the Brass Monkey Bar around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.
Officers arrived on scene and located a male outside of the bar at 15 N. 10th St. who had been identified by witnesses as the person who fired the weapon. As of 9:30 a.m., no charges have been filed and no arrest have been made, according to a release from the FDPD.
Two individuals were located inside the bar with gunshot injuries — a 30-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a 26-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the neck. Both victims were transported to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. The female victim was later airlifted to a Des Moines area hospital for further treatment. Both victims were last known to be in stable condition.
The initial investigation found that an altercation involving multiple people had occurred inside the bar prior to the shooting. As the altercation continued, one of the individuals involved brought out a firearm and fired several shots.
