Parks to be focus of tonight’s FD City Council meeting

Parks will be a focus of the Fort Dodge City Council when it meets tonight.

The council will have a workshop at 5 p.m. to review proposed master plans for Snell-Crawford and Expo parks. Snell-Crawford Park is on Williams Drive. Expo Park, the site of the former Expo Pool, is on North Seventh Street.

During its regular business meeting, which begins at 6 p.m., the council will consider awarding a contract for improvements at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex. The planned work includes replacing backstops on three ball diamonds and building new dugouts at the primary baseball field.

Doyle Construction, of Fort Dodge, has submitted the apparent low bid of about $514,000.

The workshop and business meeting will be held in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, residents can observe the meeting via the internet or telephone.
