Three familiar faces at the new Karl Chevrolet, Buick and GMC of Webster City are Managing Partner Bryan Spangler, General Manager Blake Greenfield and Jeff MacRunnel, all three Webster City area natives. Karl Chevrolet recently acquired Webster City Auto LLC.

WEBSTER CITY — A new auto dealership officially opened its doors in Webster City on Wednesday morning.

Karl Chevrolet, Buick and GMC in Webster City, formerly Webster City Auto LLC, opened for business Wednesday.

The acquisition adds a third franchise dealership in Iowa for Carl Moyer, owner of Karl Chevrolet and another opportunity to expand his Dealer for Life philosophy of taking care of the customers across the state.

With the opening in Webster City, Moyer adds an additional Chevrolet dealership, as well as Buick and GMC, to the offerings under the Karl brand.

“I started business on Jan. 9, 1978, opening Karl Chevrolet. This business has been very good to us and today we add another chapter in our Karl Chevrolet offerings to Iowan,” said Moyer. “Jan. 12, 2021 marks another key date in our expansion with the official opening of Karl Chevrolet Buick GMC of Webster City. This only extends our ability to service more Iowans across the state.”

Under Moyer’s ownership, along with Managing Partner Bryan Spangler and recently-named General Manager Blake Greenfield, the dealership will have access to all of the Karl Chevrolet, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart and Karl Pre-owned Glidden Inventory, providing a large selection of new and pre-owned vehicles.

“Bryan Spangler grew up in the area and has had a large commitment to the community for a number of years with his pre-owned store,” said Anthony Mills, head of marketing for Karl Chevrolet.

Greenfield also grew up in the Webster City area and has been in the car business for many years, according to Mills.

Theres a bit of remodeling is going on now at the existing building to freshen up the building and some more office space. Additional new and used inventory has been rolling into Webster City this week, Mills said.

Future plans call for the acquisition of about 35 acres of land located south of Webster City, right along U.S. Highway 20, where a new and bigger facility is planned, Mills told the Daily Freeman-Journal.

“Over the next months we’ll be working through General Motors and we’ve brought on Peterson Construction, a local company, to help us with that. Then we’ll be working through the design of that space. Our goal is to bring a great new, top of the line facility to the community there, as well as increase jobs and opportunity in Webster City ,” Mills said.

“Today is truly a great moment for the Karl Chevrolet brand and our team,” Moyer said. “I couldn’t be more excited.”
