NEWS: Several Iowa legislators visited Brushy Creek to help shape their view on whether the area should be flooded and a dam built for a 590-acre lake proposed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

SPORTS: Dan McGrevey won the first Fort Dodge Triad, combining golf, bowling and pool.

NEWS: Clifford Pittstick and Sons, Jolley, exhibited the reserve champion boar at the Spotted Hog state show and sale. The boar sold for $1,225.

SPORTS: Rosie Hoffman had the high game in the American Beauty bowling league with 196.
