Caryn Dawson, of Palmer, is a 2020-2021 National Garden Club Scholarship Award winner.

The $4,000 scholarship is one of 43 national awards available for junior, senior or grad students.

Dawson is a senior at Iowa State University majoring in global resource systems and horticulture with minors in animal science and Spanish.

In addition to her academic success, she has had international experiences in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Italy.

She has recently been selected to participate in the International Farm Youth Exchange Program that will take her to India and Austria in the summer of 2021.

The National Garden Club, Inc. is a nonprofit with 175,000 members and 5,000-member garden clubs across the U.S.

The Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa, Inc. is a member of the National Garden Club, Inc. Area FGCI clubs include Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club, Algona Garden Club, Estherville Federated Garden Club, Madrid Federated Garden Club, Palo Alto Garden Club and Town and Country Garden Club of Webster City.
