FDSH students chosen for NCI Honor Band

Fourteen Fort Dodge Senior High students were selected for the 2020 North Central Iowa Bandmasters Honor Band.

The Honor Band performs Jan. 11 at the North Iowa Area Central Community College Auditorium at 5 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.

“Students gain so much by participating in an honor band,” said Al Paulson, FDSH band director. “They have the opportunity to play challenging music and improve their skills, which helps our high school band as a whole. I’m happy for the students who were selected to represent Senior High. Their participation is recognition of the time and effort they put into their music.”

Students representing Fort Dodge Senior High are:

9th-10th Grade Honor Band: Aaron Amhof, trumpet; Aliyah Henry, Bb clarinet; Matthias Hippen, trombone; Allison Jordison, Bb clarinet; Ryan Madden, trombone; Anna Marxen, trombone; Rylie Reed, French horn; Brayden Schmieder, trumpet; and Grace Tolliver, Bb clarinet.

11th-12th Grade Honor Band: Antavion Adams, Bb clarinet; Reagan Black, bass clarinet; Isabel Gruver, euphonium; Josh Meier, trumpet; and Kaydence Messerly, flute.
