St. Edmond students selected for Opus Honor Choir Festival

St. Edmond Catholic School students Hannah Lukehart, Manuela Rodriguez and Faith Shirbroun were recently selected for participation in the 32nd annual Opus Honor Choir Festival.

More than 2,600 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs.

Selections were made by means of a recorded audition.

Guest conductors of the choirs include Roger Jensen, retired, Treynor, 5th and 6th Grade Honor Choir; Joseph Tangen, Pella Middle School, 7th and 8th Grade Bass Clef Honor Choir; Collete McCellen, Mid Prairie High School, Wellman, 7th and 8th Grade Treble Clef Honor Choir; and Dr. John Flanery, Bishop Heelan Schools, Sioux City, 9th Grade Mixed Honor Choir.

The 2019 Opus Honor Choirs will perform at 4 p.m. Nov. 21 in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is made possible by the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.
