The Fort Dodge Senior High girls swim team and boys swim team have been accepted as All American Scholar Teams by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America, Inc.

The girls swim team was named a Silver All-American Scholar Team with a team grade point average of 3.67.

The boys swim team was named a Bronze All American Scholar Team with a team grade point average of 3.449.

Both teams will be recognized with a certificate noting their accomplishment.

“I’m so very proud of the hard work the teams did not only in the pool, but also in the classroom,” said Ashley Beaumont, head girls coach and assistant coach for the boys. “When you add together the number of hours these kids practice and compete and then look how successful they are in the classroom, it shows that these kids are truly leaders.”

Members of the girls’ team include Taylor Hartley, Grace Hartley, Sydney Crimmins, Adyson McKinney, Chelsea Sayer, Elora Fierke, Alicia Reed, Brittany Kalvig, Mackenzie Poland, Emily Schaffer, Madigan Peimann, Luanne Xiao, Morgan Border and Rylie Steinkamp.
