Syverson Memorial Scholarship awarded
EMMETSBURG — Nate Harris, of Graettinger, is the recipient of the 2017-18 Duane Syverson Memorial Scholarship. In 2001, the Duane Syverson Memorial Scholarship was established at Iowa Lakes Community College. Syverson worked in the Estherville area for over 40 years as a mason doing concrete and brick work. This scholarship encourages others to also enjoy this career. Requirements include full-time enrollment in Construction Technology. Preference will be given to incoming freshmen. Award amount varies and must be used for tuition, books or fees.
