Webster County Public Health hopes to move to Phase 1B of vaccinations soon

Public health departments may be divided by county lines, but area departments have been working hand-in-hand to support one another. Last week, the Calhoun County Health Department completed its Phase 1A of COVID-19 vaccinations, but still had a few remaining vials. Since November, 47 dead from COVID in Webster County

As 2020 came to a close Thursday, Webster County celebrated a new year with at least 64 fewer residents, all lost to COVID-19. The death increases over the last week have kept almost the same pace with the rate of increases through most of November and December. Since Nov. 6 alone, 47 people have been killed by the coronavirus. Supervisors finalize county mask mandate

A mask mandate passed in a split vote Tuesday by Webster County Supervisors brought the county in line with a similar mandate passed by the City of Fort Dodge in November. The regulation, first drafted and passed by the Webster County Board of Health Dec. 3, requires masks or face coverings to be worn at all times in most indoor public locations, regardless of how long one is inside or how close one is to others. Webster County COVID-19 deaths up 380% in two months

As the positivity rate continues to slowly drop in December, the death toll for victims of COVID-19 continues to hit new heights in Webster County. In less than two months, the number of people who were killed by the coronavirus nearly quadrupled, from 15 deaths on Oct. 27 to 57 deaths by Tuesday. Since Dec. 5 alone, the count has grown from 39 to 57. Supervisors pass county mask mandate

In a follow-up to a mask mandate passed by the Fort Dodge City Council in November, Webster County Supervisors approved the county Board of Health's mask regulation Tuesday, making masks and face coverings in most public places mandatory for the rest of the county.
