Citizens Community Credit Union gets national recognition

For the third consecutive year, Citizens Community Credit Union was named as one of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for 2026.

Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group recognized the top 500 regional banks and top 500 regional credit unions in the United States that are committed to powering local economies by supporting small businesses, financing community projects and providing reliable access to everyday banking services. This year’s list of honorees included just two Iowa-based credit unions.

“Being recognized for the third year in a row is a tremendous honor and a meaningful affirmation of the work our team does every day,” said Dan Scott, chief executive officer. “This award reflects the dedication of our entire staff, who remain deeply committed to improving the financial well-being of our members and consistently demonstrating the credit union difference. We’re also proud to be a trusted partner and positive force in the communities we serve. While awards are never our motivation, we are grateful for this recognition and proudly accept this designation.”

More than 8,800 regional financial institutions were considered for this award, with selection based on a number of factors, including financial relevance and the overall health and stability of the financial institution. In addition, online and social media reviews, customer surveys and third-party news media monitoring were considered as part of the selection process.
