Choral society, Jive for Five team up for show today
Living in America will be the theme of today’s concert by the Fort Dodge Choral Society and Jive for Five.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St.
Admission is $10 at the door or free for those with a season membership in the society. All students will be admitted free.
The concert will feature works for brass and choir. Featured composers will be Aaron Copland, Z. Randall Stroope and Gwyneth Walker.
Jive for Five consists of Dan Cassady on trombone, Dave Swaroff on trumpet, Kathy Yoakam on horn, Tim Miller on trumpet and Paul Bloomquist on tuba.
Jive for Five and the Fort Dodge Choral Society have collaborated frequently in the past.
Future Fort Dodge Choral Society concerts include a Christmas show on Dec. 16, plus performances on Feb. 24 and May 5.
The Choral Society was established in 1968. Bruce Perry is the conductor.
