LifeWorks to feature music, comedy at annual fundraiser

Guests attending the LifeWorks Charitable Foundation’s annual fundraiser will be entertained by both music and comedy.

Musician Brent Ferguson, singer Josh Gibbons and comedian Matthew Jacobsen will be competing to earn the People’s Choice Award, according to information provided by Teresa Naughton, executive director of LifeWorks.

The judges of the competition will be Rhonda Chambers, director of aviation at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport; Webster County Supervisor Mark Campbell and LifeWorks Technology Director Lance Lennon.

The fundraiser will be Nov. 2 at the Fort Frenzy Cardiff Center, 3232 First Ave. S.

Naughton said social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a silent auction.

There will also be a two-meat buffet dinner, as well as dessert, prior to the entertainment.

“It will be a lot of fun for a great cause,” Naughton said. “The event will raise dollars for the LifeWorks Charitable Foundation’s endowed fund. This will provide a perpetual funding source for LifeWorks Community Services, to enhance the quality services offered to adults and children with disabilities.”

Tickets are available for $40 each at Fort Frenzy, Fort Dodge and Humboldt Hy-Vee locations, and LifeWorks’ offices.

Event proceeds go to the LifeWorks Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to provide financial support to LifeWorks Community Services in its work with individuals with disabilities. Naughton said LifeWorks Community Services provides daily living and employment supports to around 240 people in Fort Dodge, Humboldt, and surrounding counties.
