KYL announces children’s department May events

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be hosting children’s events in May Family Summer Kick-off Carnival — Kendall Young Library will be celebrating the coming of summer with a carnival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This fun family event will offer games, face painting, a balloon artist and Tim Read (illustrator) drawing caricatures. Garden Club plant and garden sale Thursday

The annual plant and garden sale sponsored by the Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or sold out) Thursday at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. The sale will include annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and bulbs. The perennials will be freshly dug from members’ gardens, showing that they are plants that will overwinter in Iowa In addition, garden-related books, magazines, tools, garden art and garden-themed items, such as vases, decor, and puzzles, will be available. Donations requested for Respect for Life rummage sale

St. Edmond Respect for Life Student Group is accepting donations for the annual Respect for Life rummage sale to be held June 6 and 7. The collection times and dates are 3 to 4 p.m. on May 4 and 25 at the Corpus Christi Center, 403 N. Eighth St., north entrance. Items requested include baby items, home decor and furniture, functioning appliances and tools. Damaged or stained items cannot be accepted.

Badger Lions pancake breakfast is Sunday

BADGER — Badger Lions Club is holding a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Badger Fire Station, Badger. The menu is all the pancakes you can eat plus sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk or coffee for a freewill donation. Those attending are asked to bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lions to recycle. Net profit will support community and Lions projects.

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be having variety of teen events throughout May. Teen Lounge — Patrons in sixth through 12th grade are invited each Tuesday in May from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more. This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event.
