KYL May adult library monthly programs announced

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be having Adult Programs throughout the month of May. Adult Book Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to join for the May Book Club discussion about “The Thursday Murder Club,” by Richard Osman. Books are available at the adult checkout if you are interested in participating. We will be meeting on May 13 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to discuss. Badger Lions pancake breakfast May 4

BADGER — Badger Lions Club is holding a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon May 4 at the Badger Fire Station, Badger. The menu is all the pancakes you can eat plus sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk or coffee for a freewill donation. Those attending are asked to bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lions to recycle. Net profit will support community and Lions projects.

First Covenant Church to hold Day of Prayer event

First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H, will hold an event for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. The church will have a “Meet at the Cross” outside from 12 to 1 p.m. and “Quiet meditation in the sanctuary” from 5 to 7 p.m. Both of these times are come and go and everyone is welcome to attend and pray for our families, our community, our state and our nation. The national theme is “Pour out to the God of Hope and be filled.”

Grace Lutheran rummage sale is May 2 and 3

Grace Lutheran Church, 211 S. Ninth St., is holding a rummage sale from noon to 6 p.m. May 2 and 9 a.m. to noon May 3 at the church. There will also be a bake sale, lunch and silent auction. On May 3, there will be a $2 bag sale at 10 a.m. Cash only. The lunch will be sloppy joes, chips, homemade pie and a drink at The Grace Cafe in the main level Fireside Room, both days. The silent auction will conclude at noon May 3. The top bidders need not be present to win auction items. Otho Fire and Rescue ball today

The Otho Fire and Rescue ball is 5 p.m. to midnight today at the Webster County Fairgrounds, 22770 Old Highway 169. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. with the auction starting at 6 p.m. Adult tickets are $10 and children’s tickets are $5.
