‘Loss of a Spouse’ grief seminar is Aug. 2

A two-hour seminar entitled “Loss of a Spouse” will be 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H. There is no charge for the event. This is a GriefShare program. If you have experienced the loss of a spouse, this seminar may help you through the grieving process. DIY terrarium class Tuesday

What do you get then you combine plants, grass and creativity? Terrariums! Join a class on the miniature ecosystems that have fascinated people for centuries. All ages are welcome. This a family activity, so an adult must accompany children. Webster County Conservation is holding a DIY terrarium class from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center, 20 N. First St. Spots are limited. Registration is required at Mycountyparks.com. The cost is $20 per terrarium.

Rolling Hills Community Church VBS announced

Rolling Hills Community Church, 2891 N. 15th St., is holding a Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. July 28 through Aug. 1 at the church. The theme is “Magnified! Discovering the Bigness of God in the Smallest of Things!” A week filled with fun activities is planned for children ages preschool through sixth grade. Church bus transportation will be provided all week to and from the VBS. Registration is 6 to 7 p.m. July 27 at the church with a bouncy house, games and cookies. Westside Church of Christ holding gospel meetings Wednesday through Sunday

Westside Church of Christ, 1132 A St. W., is holding gospel meetings Wednesday through July 27. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. On July 26, there will be a barbecue at 5 p.m. Special guest speaker Cliff Huot, of Vermillion, South Dakota, will be giving the message of the gospel at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. CCS ninth annual Epic Rummage Sale is July 18, 19, 25 and 26

Community Christian School, 2406 9 1/2 Ave. S., is holding its ninth annual Epic Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 18 and 25 and 8 a.m. to noon July 19 and 26 at the school. On July 26, all tagged items will be half price and all untagged items will be $5 per bag.

Coffee and Conservation is Saturday

Webster County Conservation is holding Coffee and Conservation at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center, 20 N. First St. Each month there will be an informal discussion about a variety of conservation/recreation topics in Webster County. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. July’s topic is archaeology awareness presented by Deann Haden, certified field and laboratory technician, Iowa Archaeological Society.
