Garden Club to meet Tuesday

The Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club meeting is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. The Southeast Valley School will do a presentation on its new “Greenhouse” adventures. Come and listen to all the plans for the greenhouse. Bev Longnecker will give a report on one of her hobbies. Visitors are welcome.

Calhoun County Museum to hold free dance on Oct. 25

ROCKWELL CITY — The Calhoun County Historical Society will hold a dance/concert from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Calhoun County Museum in Rockwell City. The Al Welsh Orchestra, one of the longest running successful dance bands in the Midwest, will perform varieties of dance music from the turn of the 20th century up through the 1960s and beyond in big band style. This year will mark the 19th annual dance at the museum. Fort Museum ‘Haunting in the Village’ is today and Oct. 24 and 25

“A Haunting in the Village ... What could possibly go wrong???” is 7 to 10 p.m. today and Oct. 24 and 25 at the Fort Museum Frontier Village, 1 Museum Road. Tickets are $5 each, with a family maximum of $20. Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Lehigh Methodist Church Lord’s portion dinner and bake sale is Oct. 25

LEHIGH — Lehigh Methodist Church, Lehigh, is holding a Lord’s portion dinner and bake sale from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 25, at the church. The menu is Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn or beans, salad, pie, fresh baked roll and a drink. Livermore haunted forest is Oct. 25

LIVERMORE — Livermore 1879 Project second annual haunted forest is 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Livermore Swimming Pool Park, 201 Ninth Ave., Livermore. There will be family fun for all ages in the shelter house, along with kids clothing, hot chocolate and cookies. Admission is freewill donation to benefit the Livermore community.

Manson church holding chicken and noodles dinner Sunday

MANSON — Our Savior United Methodist Church, 1130 11th St., Manson, is holding a homemade chicken and noodles dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church on Sunday. The menu is homemade chicken and noodles, green beans, dinner roll and dessert bar. The dinner will be served dine in or carryout. There will also be a bake sale. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
