Urges vote for Coleman

To the editor: Wanted to submit a letter supporting Tommy Coleman for Webster County supervisor in District 1. I have known Tommy for 30 years and know him to be a stand up guy and someone that would work hard for the people in his district. He is great at listening to people, finding solutions to problems and always doing the right thing. He is a terrific family man and a person of great character, so I would urge the people in District 1 to cast their vote for Tommy in the upcoming election. Brett Biggins West Des Moines

To the editor: It’s election time. It’s time for using the race card against Republicans. But wait. President Biden has now added the label “MAGA Republicans” and is calling Republicans Nazis, Fascists, and extremists. Coaches are thankful for youth football season

To the editor: The Fort Dodge Senior High Football coaching staff would like to publicly thank the Fort Dodge football community for their efforts in putting on a successful youth football season for our fifth and sixth grade students in the Fort Dodge community. Players played a full youth season that consisted of many weeks of practices and five games. All of the games were played inside historic Dodger Stadium. We need a civics lesson

To the editor: There are a couple of things disturbing about the Andy Fritz “controversy” as reported by The Messenger on Oct. 25. Neither of them involves Councilman Fritz who has been elected and served uncontroversially on the City Council previously for many years. Very disheartening is the level of misunderstanding of the role of religion in government displayed at the council meeting by some people who really ought to know better. To the editor: One of the attributes of Supervisor Keith Dencklau I admire is that party label means little to him. He works hard for Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike. His potential successor embodies these same qualities. Tommy Coleman listens to all and works for all of his constituents regardless of party affiliation.
