Almost Home adoption special and fall photos Saturday

Almost Home Animal Shelter, 725 S. 32nd St., is holding an adoption special and fall photos with your pet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter. Adoption fees will be $10 per cat and $35 per dog. Those interested in adopting should get an adoption application by Thursday to make sure you will be able to take your new fur baby home on Saturday. Photos of pets and human will be available, dress in costume if you wish. Special guest will include the Cub Scouts with a popcorn booth.

Crime Stoppers selects new board officers

Webster County Crime Stoppers voted in a new panel of executive officers for its board of directors on Friday. The new executive officers are: • Fort Dodge Police Lt. Zach Stanley as president • Melissa Allison as vice president • Lynne Meyer as secretary • Craig Patterson as treasurer Terry Cook had served as president since 2021. Other outgoing officers are Vice President Julie Cripe and Secretary Roxy Leadley. Patterson was re-elected to the treasurer position.

Part of Paragon Avenue to be closed

The northbound lane of Paragon Avenue (Webster County Road P59) will be closed between 130th and 140th streets beginning Monday, according to the Webster County Road Department. That lane will be closed for about six weeks. Access from 130th and 140th streets will be limited. A detour will be posted. The closure is necessary because contractors will be working in the right-of-way to construct a trail link to Badger.

Holy Trinity Parish spaghetti dinner Sunday

The Holy Trinity Parish spaghetti dinner is 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Corpus Christi Center, 405 N. Eighth St. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

Stroke Club to meet Wednesday

UDMO drive through food pantry Thursday

The Upper Des Moines Opportunity drive through food pantry is 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Center, 403 N. Eighth St. The pantry is open to all income-eligible residents of Webster County.
