Hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toilet paper, brushes and combs and shaving creams may be donated at UDMO, 704 Central Ave. Hygiene products are crucial yet not readily available to all. Donations will be distributed within the community.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt conducted by the Fort Dodge Moose Lodge will be held today at Dodger Stadium. The event was rescheduled due to weather. The hunt is for children aged 18 months through fourth grade. Admission is 50 cents per child. Children must be present. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m. today. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion. No pets will be allowed at the event. Smoking is prohibited. A bomb threat directed at the Fort Dodge Middle School Wednesday afternoon remains under investigation. No bombs were found during a methodical search of the building by about 25 law enforcement officers. “At this time there is no reason to believe that the physical safety of any student or staff was ever in danger,” Police Chief Dennis Quinn said in a written statement. The regional landfill south of Fort Dodge will close at 1 p.m. Thursday for a software conversion, according to an announcement from the North Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agency. No commercial or residential customers will be allowed on the site after 1 p.m. The landfill will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
