AMES – For the first time since Oct. 3, the Iowa State football team plays at home, hosting No. 24 Oklahoma State Saturday night.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on FS1.
The Cyclones (3-4 overall, 1-3 in Big 12 Conference) have dropped two straight since that win inside Jack Trice Stadium over West Virginia, 45-42. That includes a 39-3 loss at Arizona this past weekend, when they were held to just 221 yards of total offense.
Iowa State's defense also struggled, allowing 336 passing yards and 141 rushing yards to the Wildcats.
Connor Moberly relieved Jaylen Raynor late in the game, as the former Southeast Polk star completed 7 of 17 for 63 yards. He also had 20 yards rushing, including a long of 14 – which was the longest rush for the Cyclones on the day.
"It was great to for (Moberly) to get his opportunity," Iowa State head coach Jimmy Rogers said. "(Raynor) was awesome on the sidelines. Obviously, frustrated with getting pulled because he wants to compete with his teammates.
"I believe in Jaylen as far as what he gives to this football team."
Aiden Flora was held in check for the first time this year. He still leads the offense with 716 rushing yards and six TDs, adding a pair of passing scores.
Oklahoma State (5-2, 3-1) has experienced a quick resurgence under first-year head coach Eric Morris. The former Texas Tech star wide receiver and North Texas coach directs an explosive offense led by Doug Mestemaker.
Mestemaker, who followed Morris from North Texas, is expected to be a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He has 2,326 passing yards and 20 touchdowns, as Wyatt Young leads with 639 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
"We are going to play another elite quarterback, probably one of the best in the country is what I've been told by many scouts and maybe the top quarterback out for the draft," Rogers said. "He is a way better athlete than what I thought he was last year."
