AMES – Following a heartbreaking defeat at Iowa, the Iowa State football team returns home looking ot get back on track.

The Cyclones host Bowling Green here on Saturday inside Jack Trice Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT with the game airing live on ESPNU.

Iowa State (1-1 overall) has received strong efforts out of quarterback Jaylen Raynor and running back Aiden Flora to begin the season. Raynor has over 300 yards passing and five total TDs while Flora, a former star at ADM High School, has rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown.

But the Cyclones have lacked the big-play potential of an offense. They are averaging under four yards per rush and under nine yards per completed pass.

"Some of them are an overthrow, some of them are a run that we miss a block by a person," Iowa State head coach Jimmy Rogers said on explosive plays. "I don't know what it's going to take. I think it's the same thing that it takes to have success on any play; a focus throughout the play and everybody executing at a high level and doing their job."

Bowling Green (0-2) dropped games to Tarleton State and Nebraska to start year two under former NFL running back and Ohio State star Eddie George. George took over the program in 2025 after leading Tennessee State.

Jay Kastantin has 346 yards passing and a touchdown, with Jeremiah Scoby catching 12 passes for 121 yards. Austyn Dendy leads the ground attack with 89 yards.

"They do a good job of changing up looks," Rogers said of Bowling Green. "They use really good personnel. They try to put their best on some of maybe what your personnel doesn't do the best of."
