Dodger golfers in action

MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge golf team hit the road for the second time this season on Monday at the Mason City Invitational.

Freshman Mason Frevert had the low score on the day with an 88.

“Mason played well,” said Fort Dodge head coach Nick Vinson. “He started on the back and shot a 47.

“He finished strong with a 41 on the front.”

Sophomore Jaxson Dencklau shot a 93 and senior Evan Pratt had a 96. Freshman Davis Underberg rounded out the scoring with a 98.

“We are a young team,” Vinson said. “We were about where we were in the first meet, on a 72-par course this time.”

The Bobcats carded a 313 to win. The Riverhawks (325) were second, and Des Moines Roosevelt (326) was right behind.

Drew DeGabriele of Mason City carded a one-under par 71 for meet medalist honors.

The Dodgers are back in action on Thursday when they host Des Moines Lincoln and Des Moines North.
