Thank you for Autism Awareness in Fort Dodge
To the Editor:
Thank you to Mayor Matt Bemrich and the City Council for the proclamation declaring April as Autism Awareness Month in Fort Dodge.
Also a big thank you to Janel Lincoln and the Facing Autism Inc group for starting a movement in the area with so many events and opportunities for children and adults with special needs. Facing Autism is a very welcoming group and include all individuals with special needs. Our son who is 20 years old will be able to take adaptive swim lessons this summer due to this groups’ dedication.
This group is also sponsoring a Courage League Adaptive Sports Day on Sunday, May 19 at ICCC. This will be a wonderful event which adapts activities to the skill level of the participant. Some of the activities include soccer, giant board game, parachute play, tumbling and drumming.
Thank you Fort Dodge for supporting all of our youth.
