The fourth-ranked Iowa Central women's wrestling team put on a quick, effective showing here Tuesday night.

The Tritons won nine of 11 matches to score a 38-13 victory over ICCAC foe and 13th-ranked Iowa Lakes inside Hodges Fieldhouse.

Iowa Central (1-0 overall, 1-0 in league) picked up three falls, two technical falls and three forfeits in a display of complete domination. That included a one-sided win courtesy of Manson Northwest Webster grad Adelynn Hudek-Stoulil at 160 pounds.

"It was a great and exciting way to open the season," ICCC head coach Zak Hensley said. "Every athlete who stepped on the mat represented our program with pride, and I'm really proud of the effort we saw."

Hudek-Stoulil scored two takedowns and racked up exposure points from there in putting Belen Rauda Miranda away in the opening period.

"Addi has made tremendous progress over the past year," Hensley said. "I'm excited to see what she accomplishes this season. She will be a force to be reckoned with."

Sarah Warren earned a 41-second fall at 112 pounds, as Destiny Krum and Harmoni Callins picked up pins in the first for the Tritons. Defending national champion Erica Pastoriza, Brooklyn Hugghins and Jeream Estabilio were each awarded forfeits.

"Sarah looked great and very eager to compete and to accomplish her goals this season," Hensley said. "We showed some fight and resilience at 138 where Destiny battled back to earn a fall. I was really proud of her toughness and determination.

"At 145, Tayla looked very strong and picked up a tech fall, which was a great way to start her career."

While the NJCAA has yet to release official rankings, the website hermat.com has, with eight Tritons currently ranked. Pastoriza is first at 103 pounds, Huggins is third at 110, Warren is 10th at 110, Estabilio is third at 124, Krum is fourth at 138, Valerie Hamilton is first at 145, Manson Northwest Webster grad Lucy Kohnen is fourth at 160 and Callins is first at 207.

"I'm excited to see how this team continues to grow and develop throughout the season leading up to March," Hensley said. "This team win is a reflection of all 28 athletes in our room who show up every day, push one another and work to become the best they can be.

"Huge thank you to everyone who showed up, as the atmosphere was amazing and the team fed off it."

Former Humboldt state champion Brooklyn Robinson capped off the dual with a first period technical fall vs. Chykiya Miller. Robinson, a sophomore who earned All-American honors for the Lakers last year, recorded multiple takedowns in her short time on the mat.

Iowa Central will compete just three more times at home, with the next appearance coming on January 13 vs. Iowa Western. They also welcome North Iowa Area for dual action and will be hosts for the Region 11 Championships on February 13.
