Wildcat girls win in EG

EAGLE GROVE -- The Humboldt girls cross country team grabbed both the individual and team championship at the Eagle Grove Invitational on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats placed three runners inside the Top-10 and earned 60 points. Algona (68) was second followed by Garner-Hayfield-Ventura (75) and Webster City (109).

Humboldt freshman Jade Malo, beat junior teammate Aubry Fisher for the individual crown. Malo finished in 20:18.03 and Fisher was at 20:46.29.

Teammate Macey Rodgers (23:03.51) was 11th, while Maren Lindquist (25:08.33) was 24th and Maddie Parker (26:05.46) was 31st.

Eagle Grove freshman London Parrott had a strong showing on her home track, taking 5th in 21:53.37.

Algona had all five runners inside the Top-20. Charli Dodds (21:24.38) was the top finisher in fourth. Mara Davis (23:04.75) was 12th, Evelyn Kissinger (24:46.04) was 23rd, followed by Hadley Friedrich (25:23.55) and Elise Duff (25:25.99) in 25th and 26th respectively.

Webster City senior Izzy Grossoehme placed ninth in 22:40.41.

Also running for the Lynx was Lyla Brookshire (23:18.48) in 15th, Quynn Pruismann (29th in 25:45.43), Marlene Saavedra Mendoza (33rd in 26:34.88) and Mckenna Baumham (43rd in 27:20.67).

London Parrott (21:53.37) of Eagle Grove placed fifth, while Myka Anderson (24:36.83) was 21st

For Bishop Garrigan Julia Swift (21:07.40) placed third.

Also running for the Golden Bears was Rachel Kahle (19th in 24:22.84), Eva Kohlhaas (22nd in 24:42.72), Charlie Steir (31:26.96 in 75th) and Sheila Reding (81st in 32:46.62).
