CLARION -- Colin Sesker started Friday night's contest with two big runs.

He ended it with a short one.

The eighth-ranked Cowboys (9-1 overall) escaped their home field with a 32-26 victory over South Hardin (7-3).

Esker had a run of 39 and 21 in the first quarter and was over 100 yards by the half, but his three-yard touchdown scamper with 34 seconds left put the Cowboys up for good.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows struggled in the third quarter with negative-six yards of offense, and trailed on the scoreboard 20-10.

After a South Hardin fumble and two unsportsmanlike penalties, Charlie Campbell punched it in from three yards out to put the score 20-17.

The Cowboys then went up 24-20 on a J.D. Morrical nine-yard touchdown run.

With 3:05 left in the contest Tiger quarterback Braden Weig hit Colby Zollar for a 38-yard scoring strike and 26-24 lead after the two-point conversion failed.

Campbell got the Cowboys on the board first with a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Matthew Tijull Villatoro then remained perfect on the year, kicking his fourth field goal of the season, the longest of the season from 33 yards out.

The Cowboys will now face West Lyon on Friday.

Starting at /week.
