STATE CENTER – The Manson Northwest Webster football team needed to play a near-perfect game here Friday night to secure an upset.

Instead, it was West Marshall doing anything and everything they wanted.

The Trojans picked up a 45-0 victory in Class 1A playoff action, eliminating the Cougars in the process.

Standout quarterback Blayk Hart had a pair of short rushing touchdowns and a 56-yard strike to Turner DeRossett as part of a 34-point first half for West Marshall (7-2 overall).

Hart had 86 yards rushing and threw for 106 on just three completions, as DeRossett had three total TDs. His second came on a hook-and-ladder just before the half ended.

Wilson Buckley recovered a fumble for a touchdown, as Buckley added a field goal.

The Cougars (4-5), in the playoffs for a third consecutive season, moved the ball well early but fumbled twice and had an interception in the opening 24 minutes. Coy Moline, a senior, had 59 yards rushing and 45 yards receiving on three catches, as Isaiah Daggett completed 6 of 10 for 68.

For Manson Northwest Webster, the game marked the final one for seniors Cameron Wood, Moline, Eli Schoon, Daggett, Gabriel Dow, Jackson McGuire, Tegan Thoma, Elliott Droste, Jaggar Wolfe, Aiden Nelson and Charlie Sturgis.
