Unbeaten area teams go for 3-0

Eagle Grove is off to its best start since the 2017 season, and will look to keep the ball rolling on Friday night.

The Eagles (2-0 overall) will face an unbeaten foe as they square off with West Fork (2-0).

Head coach Logan Willard’s squad has outscored its opponents 96-6 so far, with routs of Lake Mills and Ogden. In last week's victory, Eagle Grove ran for 230 yards.

Quarterback Adrian Whipple had 15 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown. He threw for 88 yards. Trenton Robinson had 93 yards and two TDs.

Eagle Grove has 677 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. Whipple has rushed for 238 and Robinson has 176. Both have scored four times. Keegan Eisentrager, Kylar Sisson and Colson Schafer have all hit paydirt as well.

For West Fork, Blaine Schulz had 134 yards and two touchdowns. Zander Hansen has rushed for three scores, and Hansen has thrown for two.

West Fork has won the last five meetings between the programs, including a 36-16 win last season.

SOUTHEAST VALLEY (2-0) at SOUTH HAMILTON (1-1)

Mike Swieter will be looking for his 150th career coaching victory as the undefeated Jaguars travel to South Hamilton, which picked up its first victory last week.

The Jaguars cruised to a 33-6 win over Emmetsburg last Friday after knocking off Manson Northwest Webster in the opener.

For Southeast Valley, Casey Hanson was 9-for-9 passing for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the E-Hawks. Logan Jaeschke caught four balls for 100 yards and three TDs. Wyatt Muench and Mason Bahr had rushing scores as well.

On the young season, Hanson has thrown for three touchdowns and ran for two.

Hawk junior Wyatt Gelder has rushed for 303 yards and five touchdowns. In last week's 52-0 shutout of Panorama, Gelder ran for 234 yards and four TDs. Kash Northrop and Maddux Becker added rushing scores.

EAST SAC COUNTY (2-0) at MVAOCOU (2-0)

Both East Sac County and MVAOCOU have gotten off to strong starts through the first two weeks.

Now, they meet each other.

The Raiders have victories over Alta-Aurelia (49-8) and IKM-Manning (35-34). MVAOCOU beat Manson Northwest Webster (41-30) and Missouri Valley (28-0).

For East Sac County, Weston Julin has rushed for 174 yards and four scores. Carson Schmitt has 172 yards and two TDs and Carson Schmitt has 172 yards and two touchdowns. Julin has thrown for three scores and 187 yards.

Caden Schmidt has thrown for 340 yards and six TDs to help lead the Rams.

MANSON NORTHWEST WEBSTER (0-2) at OGDEN (1-1)

The Cougars are searching for their first victory of the season. Manson Northwest Webster got its offense rolling last week, rushing for 297 yards and three scores.

Second team all-state selection Coy Moline rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown. Charlie Sturgis had two rushing TDs for MNW.

Isaiah Daggett threw a scoring pass to Eli Schoon.

For the Bulldogs, Jackson Ilth has two rushing touchdowns and Tyler Lass has one. Carson Lloyd has thrown for 322 yards and one TD so far.

NORTHWOOD-KENSETT (2-0) at WEST BEND-MALLARD (2-1)

After winning their first two games, West Bend-Mallard suffered a loss last week. Now, the Wolverines look to get back on track.

This season, WB-M has two backs over 300 yards to date. Trent Morey has ran for 359 yards and seven scores. Carter Stalzer has 384 and two TDs. Cesar Falcon has two touchdowns.

Through the air Morey has thrown two scoring passes, and Clayton Hoch has two TD passes.

Abner Zaugg has three TD catches.

For Northwood-Kensett, Landen Nelsen has run for 251 yards and four scores. Henry Hanson and Brady Tufte have two rushing touchdowns each.
