HIGHLAND, Kan. – The No. 14 Iowa Central football team started off its extended road trip with a dominant 64-0 victory over Highland here Saturday afternoon.
Gabe McWilliams had two quick touchdown passes to get the Tritons (2-1 overall) on the board. McWilliams finished 24-for-31 for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
“Our guys showed up prepared and ready to play,” ICCC head coach Colby Kratch said. “It was great to see our offense have such a strong start. On defense, we’re still looking to do that.
“I think we took a closer step to playing more complementary football. We still have plenty of things to work on and left plays out on the field.”
Oluwatobie Falubi had 74 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just four carries in the rout. Ethan Johnson ran for 71 yards and a score. Jacari Patton also had a passing touchdown.
Eleven different Iowa Central players caught a pass. TyJohn Brooks, Kamare Williams, Marcellus Chandler and Max Dalton all had touchdown receptions.
Brooks finished with seven catches for 83 yards. Will Graunke and Williams each had five receptions.
The Tritons finished with 33 first downs and 571 yards of total offense. The defense held Highland to 54 net yards rushing and 158 yards overall.
Isaac Davis had a 35-yard interception return, with Zikhere Leaks and Spencer Russell each picking off passes. Charles Olson, Jackson Law and Jaydn Harris recorded sacks.
Iowa Central returns to Kansas on Saturday, taking on 15th-ranked Coffeyville beginning at 1 p.m.
